At Your Journey Therapy we are dedicated to providing a supportive and comfortable environment for all our clients. Your Journey Therapy will be providing client and family- centred multi-disciplinary services including Psychology, Family/ Couples Counselling, Occupational therapy, Speech Therapy, Group Therapy, Assessments and Physiotherapy.
As a service, we work hard to look after our clients as well as our therapists. We aim to match the client’s needs to the appropriate therapist and/or program, providing them with the best opportunity for a successful outcome. Therapists will work closely with clients, parents and other supports to enhance skills, and to work towards a meaningful, connected, and happy life.
Your Journey Therapy aims to provide an “all in one place” feel for clients/ family members to access the care and support they need. This allows collaboration between therapists, as well as multidisciplinary assessment and co-facilitation of group programs. We also offer external support to homes, schools, kindergartens and child-care settings.

Speech Pathologist
What we offer

About the Role:
We are seeking a part/ full time speech therapist to join our growing team.
Duties/Clinical Responsibilities:
Provision of thorough developmental assessments of children 0-12 years of age (up to 18 years if preferred), presenting with a wide range of developmental disorders including ASD, ADD as well as Learning Disorders and speech delays (verbal and written reporting to families/educational facilities and medical practitioners expected); provision of functional assessments and summary reports required for NDIS participants.
Responsible for providing effective, evidence based therapy programs to children and families within a clinical setting (private paying clients, NDIS funded clients and clients with Medicare plans)
Liaise and consult with educational staff and facilities, external referrers and Your Journey Therapy multidisciplinary team.
Some outreach work to clients, schools and homes to support children to gain skills and independence at home, at school or in the community
Writing of clear, concise notes (goals, progress, recommendations) using Cliniko platform and provision of reports/home/school programs as requested (communicating assessed needs clearly and precisely to client and funding organisation within appropriate time frames)
Participation in team meetings and internal professional development opportunities
Key Selection Criteria:
Our new team member will have:
Current registration with the relevant regulatory body + Police check + working with Children Check.
Current registration as a Medicare Provider
Demonstrated interest in disability (ASD, ADHD) with some experience working in a related field
Previous experience as an Speech Therapist supporting varied caseloads (NDIS service experience not essential)
Minimum of 2 years experience working in paediatric practice within a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with colleagues, clients and key stakeholders
Excellent customer service skills and a client-centred approach to healthcare

Our new team member will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or AASW;
Possess the ability to provide counselling, and offer knowledge of therapeutic interventions, to children, young people and parents who present with issues related to mental health, trauma, behavioural issues, as well as general wellbeing;
Experience in completing risk assessments and mental health assessments;
Compliance – AHPRA registration, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Covid-19 vaccination certificate or exemption
Current Professional Indemnity Insurance and the ability to obtain an Australian Business Number (ABN) and Medicare provide number.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience

Qualification in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
Work experience in supporting individuals with challenging behaviours in the context of positive behaviour support, behaviour therapy or other therapeutic support services. (Desired)

Occupational Therapist
Responsibilities:
The Occupational Therapist role is to identify children and adults with sensory, developmental, learning and social difficulties, and plan and implement appropriate client management plans that will increase success in the their environments as well as the social world. The Occupational Therapist will be expected to liaise with families and other relevant professionals as clinically appropriate.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in standardised assessments for the purpose of evaluating clients.
Experience in report writing
Degree in Occupational Therapy
Minimum 1-2 years prior experience in Occupational Therapy
AHPRA registration

Experience working with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, developmental delays and Sensory disorders, etc.
Experience working with a collaborative team towards common goals for the young client.
Main tasks:
Use evidence based information and tools to identify sensory, developmental, learning and social disorders for clients of all ages.
Develop appropriate and individualised client management plans for the purpose of managing identified sensory, developmental, learning and social disorders for clients of all ages.
Provide treatment and support for identified sensory, developmental, learning and social disorders for clients of all ages. Deliver therapy sessions to individuals.
Interpret medical and other reports for the purpose of providing information and/or ensuring that relevant aspects of care are included in individual client management plans
Collaborate with a variety of groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providing a high level of client services
Maintain client files and records, for the purpose of ensuring updated information is available at all times in an organized and clear system that complies with the practice's policies and procedures for record keeping
Prepare a wide variety of written materials, including reports and letters, which comply with the practice policies and procedures for record keeping, for the purpose of documenting activities and conveying clinical information to families and other professionals
Perform off-site consultations as appropriate for the purpose of collaborating with other people involved in client care and gathering information pertinent to the development of client management plans and appropriate intervention and support
Comply with legal and ethical requirements of both the practice and the governing professional body.
Engage in regular supervision.
Have a valid Working with Children’s Check and NDISWC.
